Adventurers, I’m excited to share something special with you—Scorched Basin, a new, system agnostic tabletop RPG setting created by my friends at Homie and The Dude. I had the privilege of collaborating on this project, and it’s been such a rewarding experience to see it come together. You can check it out on Kickstarter now!
What Makes Scorched Basin Great?
Scorched Basin is set in a sun-baked desert world—inspired by the post-apocalyptic mayhem of Mad Max and the mysticism and deep lore of Dune—where survival is never guaranteed. Resources are scarce. Factions are always on edge. The environment itself can feel like another character at the table. What I love most about this setting is how flexible it is. It’s completely system-agnostic, which means you can drop it right into D&D, Pathfinder, Dungeon Crawl Classics, Nimble, or whatever system your group already enjoys. You don’t have to learn a whole new ruleset—you just pick the parts that inspire you and make them your own.
Here’s some of what Scorched Basin has to offer:

- Multiple desert terrains
- 5 competing factions
- Unique creatures and player options
- A one-of-a-kind magic system
- Battle maps for 5 key locations (including 2 cities)
- Printable 3D Models
- A custom soundtrack and voiceovers – including some by ME!
- NO AI!
The Whole Community Helped Make Scorched Basin
My own small role in Scorched Basin was providing some of the voiceover work for the project. It was a lot of fun to lend my voice to help bring the tone and atmosphere of this world to life. Seeing how Homie and The Dude tied everything together with the artwork (absolutely NO AI!), mechanics, and storytelling tools made me appreciate just how much heart went into the creation of this setting.
More than 100 TTRPG content creators collaborated on the Scorched Basin, and the amount of content included is incredible. PLUS, Homie and The Dude are keeping ALL their marketing budget in the TTRPG community. That means if you use my link, you help support this channel too!
The Kickstarter campaign has already been highlighted as a “Project We Love,” and it’s easy to see why. The art is gorgeous. The stretch goals add even more depth. The whole thing is designed to spark creativity for GMs and players alike. I’m proud to have played a small part in bringing this world to life, and I think it has something special for anyone who enjoys telling stories around the table.
